Tallest & Stiffest factory rear springs? - 09-23-2008, 08:13 PM

Is there a chart somewhere showing the factory height and stiffness of the factory installed rear springs? I've got a '93 2.6 that seems a little soft and saggy in the rear. I have a couple of parts cars that I could swipe the springs from, but I'd like to know the spring rates if possible.

The car currently has "1 bump" pads. I know I can put the 3 bump pads and gain maybe 3/8 of an inch or so of height, but that won't make them any stiffer.

I'm not looking to lower the car at all, just to stiffen up the rear springs. (I haul around a lot of dead bodies, and don't want the Po-Po to notice my sagging rear end).

The W124 and R129 coils will fit the spring perches, but length will need to be cut to suit.

Excellent information there. Now I can expand my junkyard searches to include W124's.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but what versions of the 500E have no rear SLS that have springs that could be used with a w201 with some cutting. I'm hoping to retain somewhat stock height but gain some stiffness.
