Alarm HELP!!!! - 11-14-2008, 12:53 AM

My daughter stopped by for dinner. When she went to her car to leave she set off the alarm. I'm at a loss as to how to turn it off??? I disconnected the battery and tried reconnecting it to no avail. I remember when I bought her the car this happened, I called the ex-owner and he told me some key on, key off, key on crap, but I don't remember what he said or what the heck he was even talking about, but it must have worked. This is the factory alarm system that came with the 2.6, HELP PLEASE.....

The alarm system module is the passenger footwell under a black plastic panel at the front. You can just disconnect it. It should say Becker radio alarm on it. Make sure you don't disconnect the cruise control module, which is right next to it (assuming the cruise control still works).

Thanks for the response...
I'll check it out in the morning. I let her drive my Buick home against my better judgement. That left me with the feeling you get when you loan relatives money.

lock the doors and unlock them. That worked for me. If you don't get the key in all the way when you unlock it it sets it off
