I like the microfiber detailing cloths.
They have really fine threads that attract dust by static attraction.
One will pick up all the dust in your quite dirty interior w/o leaving any behind.
Then you can put them in the washer.
They also can be used to dry the car w/o marks.
I use one of these slightly damp, w/o soap, and it picks up anything.
Check them out at Costco.
They don't scratch. The only concern is that trapped dirt can scratch if you're not a little careful.

I picked up a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser today to remove the scuff marks covering the back of my front seats.
Before:
After:
Pretty damn good! I wasn't able to remove every little mark but it's still a huge improvement.

For interior cleaning, I found a product called Crazy Clean (yeah, it's even written in crazy shaped letters!) No. 31, made by Sprayway. It's an aerosol foam....Smells nice and works great.
For underbody cleaning I just use my 2500 PSI power washer. It works WAY better than simple green ;)

There's a company called Chem Dry that uses a secret formula foam and liquid to clean carpets. They've bottled their product finally, so if you can get your hands on a bottle, it's the best thing for cleaning your carpets or floor mats.

For those of you with faded door handles and bumper trim...I tried to find an OTC product that would work well considering how much Forever Black sucked. I found Bondo's Restore Black at Wal-Mart for about 10 bucks, so I figured I'd give it a chance before ordering Poorboy's Trim Restore.
Before on SL Handles...I'm pretty sure they were supposed to be black, but they looked ugly anyways.
Halfway through
Afterwards

(Look how reflective that sexy 190 is in the background, haha)
I use Restore Black on the 190's handles and bumpers though and they really make a difference. I can usually get over a month and a half out of the bumpers before they start to fade, and just under a month or so on the handles...but that doesn't bother me since I reapply it often.

on all chrome or polished surfaces, i highly recomend bar keepers friend, its kinda like ajax, but meant for buffing metal surfaces... you mix alittle water in it so its a jel, allow it to sit on there for a min or two, and with a wet peices of steel wool, you can buff out any stain.

to clean carpet i use fantastik oxy power, this thing is incredible and you find it at every store, you can also use oxy clean if you like to do some mixing up!
windows,use simple green glass cleaner
brake dust (when no caked on) use hertel plus multi purpose cleaner otherwise meguias hot rims do the job on hard caked dust!

i still find i can restore my door handles, trim strips and bumper inserts back to a deep OEM black using Auto Glym Bumper Care - a deep cleaning gel that leaves a light silicone dressing to protect from UV.
lasts a few weeks, or a few washes and is colourless (ie no Black content), so you can also restore a deep tone and colour on door-mirror shells and the entire lower cladding of the car.
an old pic, but this was after the first time i tried it:
Autoglym - car cleaning products, car care products, car valeting, car detailing

303 protectant -
10-02-2006, 04:33 AM
Anyone else use 303 aerospace protectant?? I started this summer, it's supposed to provede UV protection for fading and cracking of vinyl interior parts. Seems to work well, a co-worker recommended it to me.
