Have seen that one before its nice and think from what I remember, Dale did you notice any other problems from the alt to batt other than the abs light? planning on doing it tomorrow, but im going from dist block to batt pos because there is not enough thread room on the back of my alt for another terminal unless I remove the stock harness which I dont want to

no other problems as of now. and i'm not entirely sure the abs light is caused by the alt. my front brakes are almost due to replace so it might be something with that system. are you still using the stock harness from alt to distro block?

also, i forgot to mention, when i wired the alt directly to the batt, i kept the stock wire running to to batt pos. to the distribution block intact. so power goes to the block in some sense i think. but thats if you ever wanna ditch the stock alternator harness.

I added the 4awg and kept the old harness, but im going to add a 4awg cable from the block to the battery because there is not enough space on the alternator for the stock and 2 4awg cables :(

is there any reason to keep the stock harness on (alternator wire to distro w/ the little sensor cable)? i have mine removed and am just running a 0 gauge to alternator to battery positive. but i noticed alot of car audio forums stating to just leave the stock harness and add extra cable.

so my question is, do i need the stock harness in conjuction with the 0 gauge cable? or just having the 0 gauge is ok enough? its on a 150a alternator if it matters.

yes its better to leave both wires as with electrical components the current will take the shortest route and if for some reason your stock wiring is better then the one you added then it will follow the older wire for current. Its more so of a backup just in case you mess up with adding new wires that may be to long or have some sort of resistance. I would use both.

Ok just finished putting back the stock harness with my 0 gauge wire. Another question came up.

Do I need to fuse the alternator to battery positive power wire?
Is it really necessary? Can anything go wrong if it is fused?

Nothin can go wrong if it is fused only if you have the original harness in place. Im not sure what that diagram means but that lead me to the conclusion and thats why I havent done it yet although I bought 4awg and a fuse holder to do it...
Also im a unsure about the overvoltage relay/protection and if it is bypassed if there is a wire directly from the alt to batt but if there is no possible harm ill do it as well
